Dexter served the Washington County Sheriff's Office for thirty-one years as a Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, and Detective. Over those years Dexter has carried a sterling reputation as a man of unquestioned integrity and Christian character in the law enforcement community.
He and his wife Nancy have consistently supported the chaplaincy of PSC/MPC over the years through their personal friendship, financial support, and volunteer work.
Dexter was involved in establishment and continuation of the peer support and critical incident stress management program within Washington County beginning in 1982, and has worked closely with the Chaplains in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). Dexter has received training through International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC) at international and regional seminars and is certified in Critical Incident Stress Management and Debriefing.
Dexter and Nancy have been faithful lay leaders in ministry within one church, the United Methodist Church of Banks, for nearly 30 years, holding many responsible positions of leadership. Dexter has been a home Bible study leader for many years. Together they have raised a family of three Children, who are now married, and have four grandchildren. Dexter is pursuing candidacy for Deacon Ordination in the United Methodist Church.
